Burnout Recovery Kinesiology

Looking for a burnout therapist in Melbourne? Here’s what a kinesiologist does differently

When you are burnt out, the fix is not another productivity system or one more thing to push through. It is getting your nervous system out of survival mode, and that happens in the body. I am a kinesiologist, not a therapist or GP, and this work sits alongside them.

When did running on empty become normal?

Burnout rarely looks like dramatic collapse. It looks like carrying on anyway, while the reserves underneath quietly run out. It shows up less as one symptom and more as a way of living that has quietly become your baseline.

Empty behind the output

The work still gets done and nobody around you can tell. Inside, the tank is dry. You are spending reserves you stopped replenishing a long time ago.

Nothing left over

You give what the day demands and there is nothing for the people you actually care about. Weekends go to recovering, not living, and it still is not enough.

Rest that stops working

The holiday, the early night, the day off. They help for a moment, then your body snaps back to switched on. Sleep stopped recharging you and you cannot work out why.

Who is this built for?

Burnout hides best in high performers, executives and senior professionals who have stayed available to everyone for years. You still deliver, you still show up, and underneath it your system never quite stands down. Left unmanaged, that constant load is often what tips ordinary chronic stress over into full burnout. If you have tried the usual fixes and still feel stuck in the same loop, that is the signal this work is built for.

  • The cost of always-on. Years of being reachable have left your body with no off switch and no real recovery.
  • Decision fatigue. Calls that used to be easy now drain you, and your judgement feels foggy by midday.
  • High-functioning depletion. From the outside it looks like capacity. Inside, the tank is empty and presence keeps slipping.
  • Slower recovery. One hard week knocks you out for days when it never used to, and the usual fixes have stopped working.

How Body-Based Kinesiology Helps

You cannot out-discipline a depleted nervous system

Your nervous system does not respond to willpower, it responds to safety. You can know exactly why you are depleted and stay depleted.PKP Kinesiology works at the level where the load lives, using muscle monitoring as a feedback tool to read what your body is holding and what it is ready to let go of.

01No talking required

Read

Gentle muscle monitoring reads where your nervous system is locked in survival mode after years of staying switched on.You stay fully clothed on a padded table.

02Body-led, not scripted

Unload

Targeted techniques help your body release the load it has been bracing around, so the always-on signal can finally stand down.

03A new baseline

Rebuild

Session by session, your baseline shifts back toward steady and responsive, so you recover faster and have more in reserve.Deeper patterns take more sessions. Results vary.

Do you need a burnout therapist, a GP, or this?

Start with the GP. Burnout looks a lot like thyroid trouble, low iron and depression, and none of those are a kinesiologist’s to spot. Once the medical side is covered, this work is for the system that still has not stood down.

A GP, a psychologist and a kinesiologist compared for burnout by what each works through, who provides it, whether it can diagnose, and when to see them.

What You Actually Get

What do you get, concretely?

One-on-one time with me, a muscle-monitoring read of where your system is carrying the load, hands-on work to help it unload, and a straight read on whether more sessions would help. No productivity system, no routine to keep up, and nothing you have to talk through.

In every session

  • A short conversation about what you are carrying. You set the theme, and the backstory is optional.
  • A muscle-monitoring read of where your nervous system is locked in survival mode, fully clothed on a padded table.
  • Hands-on balancing using acupressure, holding points, movement or breath, following what your body shows.
  • A straight read at the end on whether more sessions would help, including when the honest answer is your GP.

The two session types

  • Initial Consultation, 75 minutes. Your history, a full first balance, and an honest read on whether more sessions would help.
  • Follow-Up Session, 60 minutes. Picks up where the last one finished, no re-explaining.
  • In person or online. Moorabbin clinic, or video anywhere in Australia. Same session either way.

For sustained work over several months, the Embody & Lead programme adds mentoring and accountability. Costs are all on the pricing page, in full, with no extras added later.

What this does not do

  • It does not diagnose burnout, depression or anything else. Muscle monitoring is a feedback tool, not a medical test.
  • It does not treat any condition, and it is not a substitute for medical care or a medical certificate.
  • It does not replace your GP or psychologist. If either is helping, keep going.
  • It is not registered with AHPRA, because kinesiology is not a registered health profession in Australia.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about burnout

Can a kinesiologist help with burnout?

Many people come to Intelligentle Healing in Moorabbin for burnout, and clients commonly report more reserve and faster recovery across a course of sessions. Burnout is what happens when your nervous system has spent too long stuck in survival mode. I’m Vildan Alihodzic, PKP Kinesiologist, and I work with the body rather than the story, using gentle muscle monitoring to find where the load is held and help it release. It is a complement to your GP and psychological care, never a replacement. Results vary. PKP Kinesiology is a complementary health practice and is not a substitute for medical advice.

Do I need a burnout therapist, or can a kinesiologist help?

If you are searching for a burnout therapist, you are really looking for someone who can help you recover, and there are a few honest options. A GP can check what else might be going on, and a psychologist or counsellor works with burnout through talk and strategy, which many people find valuable. I’m a kinesiologist, not a therapist or medical practitioner, and I work differently: through the body, using muscle monitoring to read where your nervous system is carrying the load and help it stand down, with no requirement to talk anything through. For a lot of people the two approaches sit well side by side. If a GP or psychologist is already helping, keep going. Results vary.

How is kinesiology different from burnout coaching or therapy?

Burnout coaching and therapy work largely through the mind, strategy, mindset, and the verbal narrative, and they do that well. PKP Kinesiology works through the body. I use muscle monitoring to read where your nervous system is carrying the load, then help it down-regulate, with no requirement to talk anything through. It is a complement to coaching, psychology, and medical care, never an alternative. If you are seeing a coach or GP, keep going.

Can kinesiology help burnout if I am still functioning?

Most people who come to Intelligentle Healing for burnout are still functioning, that is the point. You are delivering at work while running on empty, and the usual fixes have stopped working. Because PKP Kinesiology works with the nervous system directly, you do not have to hit a wall first. I read where your body is holding the load and help it release. Many clients notice more reserve and faster recovery across a course of sessions. Results vary.

What does a burnout kinesiology session involve?

A first session at Intelligentle Healing in Moorabbin runs 75 minutes. I take a brief history of what you are carrying, then use muscle monitoring to find where your nervous system is under the most load. You lie fully clothed on a padded table. Sessions are calm and structured, and nothing needs to be verbalised. Most people leave noticing a shift. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes and build on what is already in motion.

How many sessions for burnout recovery?

There is no fixed number. Many clients notice a shift in their first session, and longer-held executive burnout, built over years of accumulated stress, typically takes more. Most people start with four to eight sessions and reassess from there. I give an honest read after your first session, so a single initial session is enough to tell whether the work is right for you. Results vary.

Is this only for executives and senior leaders?

No. This work is for anyone who is burnt out, whether that is a parent running on empty, someone in a demanding job, or a business owner who has not stopped in years. I do keep a specific focus on executives and senior leaders, the ones everyone leans on, because high-functioning burnout hides so well behind a performance that still looks fine. You do not need a particular title. If you have held it together for a long time, recover slower than you used to, and feel switched on with no off, this is who this work is for. Intelligentle Healing is not an AHPRA-registered provider, and the work sits alongside your medical care, not instead of it.

What is the difference between this and the Embody & Lead programme?

This page is the starting point for burnout recovery, single sessions that help your nervous system stand down. The Embody & Lead programme is the deeper, multi-week container for leaders who want sustained nervous system work over several months, with regular sessions and accountability built in. Many people begin with a session here, then move into the programme for the longer work. Results vary.
