What to Expect in a Kinesiology Balance?

Especially if you’re new, unsure, or just starting to explore healing

So, you're curious about kinesiology and thinking about booking your first session, but you're not quite sure what actually happens in one. That’s okay. Most people feel the same way at first.

Let me walk you through it, step by step.

First Things First: Yes, There Will Be Physical Contact

The very first thing to know is this:

During a kinesiology session, I will be physically touching your body.
This is for muscle testing and for applying gentle corrections on acupuncture points and other specific areas that have been mapped out in the body.

Important note:
There should never be any inappropriate or uncomfortable touching. Ever.
If you feel something is off or wrong during a session, trust your instincts and leave. Your safety and comfort always come first.

You Are Always in Control

You are not a passive participant in this work.

The entire session is tailored to you and your needs. You’re in charge. I’m simply guiding and supporting your process.

We start by setting a goal for the session.
This goal comes from you, what you want to work on, shift, heal, or feel more of in your life.

Think of the goal as a compass.
It gives direction and purpose to everything that unfolds during your balance.

For example, your goal might be:

“My body and mind are safe, grounded and stable, allowing me to love, nurture and accept myself.”

With that as our focus, everything that comes up in the session, memories, emotions and limiting mental or behavioural patterns, will be directly related to why you haven’t been feeling safe, grounded, or loving toward yourself.

That way, it’s never random and it’s always meaningful.

Then We Run a Few Diagnostic Tests

Before we begin the deep work, we check how your system is functioning.

That includes looking at:

  • Physical and neurological organisation

  • Hydration

  • Whether you’re dissociated (not fully connected to your body)

If you are dissociated, we take time to gently reconnect you before going any further. That connection is key, otherwise, the feedback we get from the muscle testing would be inaccurate.

We Check In With Your Subconscious

Next, we talk to your subconscious, yep, the deeper part of your mind that knows what’s really going on under the surface.

We make sure it’s on board with the changes you want to make.

If it’s not?
We gently uncover what’s in the way, maybe an old fear, belief, or hidden stress, and we help your system process and clear that block.

Then Comes the Balance Itself

Once your system is ready, we dive into the full kinesiology balance.

This is where we use our finger mode database (more on that in another post) to find exactly what’s out of balance in your system.

This part is where the real magic happens—where your body leads the way, and we follow with gentle correction techniques.

There are 250 to 400 tools available in the PKP toolkit, and we’ll use exactly what your body needs, nothing more and nothing less.

We Recheck Everything

After the balance is complete, we go back to the beginning.

We re-test all the areas we looked at earlier—your nervous system, hydration, balance points—to confirm what’s shifted.

And then, you check in, too.

How do you feel? What’s changed? What’s softened? What’s clearer?

We Ground and Settle Before You Leave

Before you walk out the door, we make sure you’re not floating off into space.

We take time to ground you, help your body feel stable, and ensure you're leaving feeling calm, supported, and safe.

What Might Happen After a Session?

Everyone responds differently, but here are some common things people notice in the hours or days that follow:

  • Feeling lighter

  • Feeling a bit spaced out

  • Dizziness

  • Deep relaxation

  • Sleepiness or fatigue

  • Increased hunger

  • Emotionally sensitive

  • Sudden shifts in body temperature (feeling cold or hot)

All of these are normal. They’re signs that your system is processing the work and beginning to shift.

Let it happen, drink water and rest if you need to; your body is integrating.

The Truth About Results

Here’s something most people don’t talk about…

Yes, sometimes huge shifts can happen in a single session.
But that’s the exception, not the rule.

Kinesiology is powerful.
But it still takes time, consistency, and integration to create lasting change.

Just like going to the gym or learning a new skill, deep healing doesn’t happen overnight.
It builds session by session, as you show up for yourself, both inside and outside the sessions.

So if you’re open, curious, and ready to explore what’s underneath the surface...

You’re in the perfect place to begin.
