Why You’re In a Healing Crisis After a Kinesiology Session

(And Why It’s a Good Sign)

A healing crisis occurs when a major internal shift has happened within you after a session or a group of sessions.

Think About a Big Week at the Gym

You’ve had a huge week of gym workouts, training, and pushing your body hard.
Then, Sunday arrives, and suddenly your body is asking you to rest.
You feel heavy, tired, and a little foggy.
You may even feel like your brain’s not quite “on.”

That’s your body telling you:

“Hey, I need time to recover from all the output.”

It might take a day or two to bounce back.
And that’s completely normal.

A Healing Crisis Is Similar—But Emotional

With kinesiology, we’re not just working with the physical body.
We’re also pushing you past your emotional and mental processing limits.

Imagine you’re a computer.
After a deep kinesiology session/s, your system is installing a brand-new operating system.

And just like your computer needs to shut down and restart to complete an update,
So do you.

Why It Feels So Intense

It takes an enormous amount of energy to:

  • Process buried emotions

  • Release stored trauma

  • Break through unconscious behaviours and mental patterns

After a kinesiology session, your body often needs to use a huge burst of energy just to let go of what’s been trapped inside.
Then, it requires another wave of energy to integrate the new awareness or programming into your system.

This puts your body in a temporary shutdown and restart phase.

What You Might Feel During a Healing Crisis

This integration period usually lasts 3 to 7 days, and rarely up to 14 days.

During this time, it’s common to experience:

  • Hypersensitivity

  • Irritability

  • Emotional rawness

  • Exhaustion

  • Skin rashes

  • Uncontrollable emotions surfacing

  • Crying for “unknown” reasons

  • A heavy or sluggish body

  • And more

It Doesn’t Feel Good… But It Is Good

Even though it can be uncomfortable, this is a great sign.
Yes, it might feel overwhelming in the moment—
But it’s actually your system saying:

“We’ve done deep work. Now it’s time to rest, recover, and integrate.”

Don’t Fear the Healing Crisis

Many people avoid inner work because they’ve heard about healing crises and fear they’ll get stuck in one.
But now you know:

  • It’s temporary

  • It’s normal

  • It’s a clear sign of progress

You will likely experience many healing crises on your journey of healing and growth.
But instead of dreading them, you can begin to welcome them,
because they signal that you are moving forward and changing.

The Most Important Thing You Can Do

When you’re in a healing crisis, the best thing you can do is:

  • Rest

  • Feel

  • Integrate

Don’t try to force yourself to do more inner work while in this phase.
That’s often just a way of trying to escape uncomfortable feelings.

Healing is all about allowing. Let yourself anchor the work you’ve already done.

Give your system what it needs:

Time. Space. Compassion.

That’s how you fully receive the transformation that’s already underway.
